ialeUK Is Now ‘Landscape Ecology UK’
Recently the UK chapter of the International Association for Landscape Ecology rebranded from ialeUK to Landscape Ecology UK. Our name change accompanies a new website hosted at a new web address: www.landscape-ecology.uk.
In the past, we found we spent a lot of time explaining the ialeUK acronym - and how to pronounce it! Our new name will make it easier for people to understand what we are all about - promoting interest, learning and understanding of landscape ecology.
The new Landscape Ecology UK website will also make it easier for us to achieve this mission. In our News feed we’ll share the latest landscape ecology news, including projects and publications from UK members and around the world. In our Events section, we’ll post details of all our events to facilitate communication between scientists, policy makers, planners and practitioners, as well as related events run by others. And our Landscape Learning pages provide accessible introductions to key aspects of landscape ecology.
We also have a section of the website just for Early Career landscape ecologists and provide more background about our organisation. There’s also suggestions of how people can get involved with us as a volunteer or member - offer your own news story, speak at one of our Landscape Connections webinars, add photos to our Image Library or host an event!
We’re still working on adding some content from the old site (like pages from past conferences), but all that is still available on the old site for a while (which will be properly archived in due course).
We hope you enjoy the new Landscape Ecology UK website and find it useful to improve your understanding of landscape ecology and identify how you can help ensure legislation, policies, incentives and best practice are informed by it. If you’re not already a member, do consider joining us to help support this mission!
